This book has VERY unique beads that look ancient but are made with polymer clay and various wires. The finished items have an primitive earthy-ness feel…and since they are supposed to mimic old world-ness, it works well.
The book starts off with intro to designing jewelry and how color plays into design. Then an intro to wire, since wire is an integral part of the jewelry made in this book.
Next is polymer clay-different canes (simplest zebra cane I’ve ever seen!), different bead techniques (you really must see the ‘string bead’!)
Using textures and canes some of the beads give the impression of looking like pods, nuts, even wood…and then pairing them with unique wiring techniques makes the ensemble work together.
