One of the big draws for moving to Alaska was fishing…and fish we did…at the beach, in the river, and in the bay. We caught dog fish shark, cod, char, flounder, halibut, sculpin or Irish Lord, and of course, salmon.
The cod was by far the best tasting of all thus far. I’ve never tasted a fish that was sweet. It was yummy, and so far only caught the one.
Found out later the sharks ARE edible. Next time I hook onto one of those, he’s comin home with us. There’s a special harvest technique for the sharks. If you’re interested in what it is, leave me a comment. Some day sooner or later, someone will read these words and want to know the trick…lol
